3rd International Conference on Business & Management

Politala- Tanah Laut State Polytechnic take part as a partnership or partner for implementing International Conference activities organized by ITS Business Management (Institute of Technology Ten November) Surabaya. The online conference which was held via zoom & YouTube Live Streaming this time was called the ‘3rd International Conference on Business and Management of Technology (IconBMT 2021)’. The theme is ‘Back on Track Post Covid-19 Pandemic: How Agile is Your Business’ which means ‘Back on Track Post Covid-19 Pandemic: How Agile is Your Business?’.

Swiss German University, University of North Sumatra, and Victoria University Australia also supported the conference.

Three highly competent key note speakers are presented. The three people consisted of Tantowi Yahya (Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi (Mahidol University International College, Thailand), Prof. James Stanworth (National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan).

Opening greetings by the presenter started the initial session of the event. Followed by watching together the video for the song ‘Indonesia Raya’ and the performance of ‘Gandrung Banyuwangi Dance’ from the Kuwung Community.

Dr. Janti Gunawan (ITS) as the General Chair gave an opening speech while welcoming all participants who took part in the online event. He said that the conference participants consisted of hundreds of participants from 5 different countries, namely Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, USA, and Australia. He also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved. He also hopes that sharing on this opportunity will be able to strengthen steps to maintain business and strengthen contributions to society.

The Dean of the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business ITS Surabaya, Dr. Imam Baihaqi representing the ITS Chancellor also gave a speech and welcome to the speakers and conference participants. He said that there were a total of 97 papers collected at this International Conference from various fields of business, management and technology. On the same occasion, he officially opened the activity.

Don’t forget Dr. Mufrida Zein as the Director of Politala also gave an opening speech welcoming the speakers, participants, and various elements who attended the conference online.

Entering the presentation session of the seminar, Tantowi Yahya started with the theme “How New Zealand’s SMEs thrive during the Covid-19 Pandemic” moderated by Dr. Imam Baihaqi, Dean of the ITS Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business. Followed by Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi with the theme “AIB and Thai Universities Dealing with Covid-19 Pandemic” moderated by Dr. Syarifa Hanoum, Head of the ITS Business & Management Department. Then the presentation by Prof. James Stanworth with the theme ‘The Chinese user – Technology Adoption Prospects Post Covid-19’ moderated by Dr. Janti Gunawan.

The last session was filled with the ‘Industry Discussion’ session which was guided by Dr. Drajat Irawan, as Head of the East Java Province Industry and Trade Office. The discussion was themed ‘The East Java Smelter Industry: Policy, Potential, and Development’.

Hopefully, Politala’s involvement at this International Conference can really measure the agility of management, business and technology in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. So that the quality, research, and management, business, and technology capabilities at the Tanah Laut State Polytechnic in particular can improve for the better. Hms_Politala
